Thanks to W.M. Hunt for both the photograph and additional information on it.
Joel-Peter Witkin is an american photographer born in 1939. His work is often transgressive, showcasing death using decorated corpses and photographic models, most usually people with dwarfism or transgender persons.
Probably one of the most striking photographs I've had the pleasure of viewing, taken in 1993 it depicts a headless fat male sat on a stool with socks on. Simple enough in theory, but very striking and transgressive (probably because its a REAL dead body). Alongside the better known angle of this photo, there are some extra outtakes taken from different angles, which I didnt know about until now. If I didnt fuck up my "research", this photo is either exhibited or held at the Baudoin Lebon Gallery in Paris, France.
Of course this one is best known for being the photo used for the cover of "Molesting The Decapitated" by Devourment, thanks to which I discovered Witkin's work.
